Trash Collection - Every THURSDAY
Garbage must be placed in the BROWN trash container.
Containers must be placed facing forward, wheels touching the curb.
Containers may be placed curbside NO earlier than 5pm Wednesday evening
Only household trash may be placed in the brown trash container. ALL recyclables should be placed in the BLUE container
Emptied containers must be removed from the street within 12 hours of collection.
The BROWN can is for household refuse only. It is not for recyclables, wood, grass clippings or other vegetative waste or e-waste.
Single-Stream Recycling Collection - Every Thursday
Use Blue Recycle Bank Containers for ALL recyclable material including
Recycle cans be placed curbside NO earlier than 5pm Wednesday evening
Emptied recycle containers must be removed from the street within 12 hours of collection.
Co-mingled newspaper, cardboard, junk mail, office paper, magazines and books
Co-mingled plastic and glass bottles, jars and jugs, aluminum and steel beverage and food containers

The BLUE can is NOT for wood, grass clippings or other vegetative waste, household refuse or e-waste.
Vegetative Waste Collection - THURSDAYs
March - November,

Yard Clippings, grass and other vegetative waste will be collected if place in a brown paper lawn bag OR traditional trash can.
Vegetative waste WILL NOT be collected in plastic bags.
Yard Bag or Garbage cans may be placed curbside NO earlier than 5pm Wednesday evening
Emptied containers must be removed from the street within 12 hours of collection.
e-Waste Collection - BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on the 1st & 3rd FRIDAYS of the month
Call Borough Hall to schedule pickup of ALL e-waste items - 467-0202
Items may be placed curbside NO earlier than 5pm on the THURSDAY evening before metal collection
All electronic equipment - computers, laptops, monitors, flat screens, TVs, fax machines, copiers, radios, stereos, boom boxes, audio visual equipment, tape recorders, phones, pagers and the like
Electronic and/or computer components - hard drives, mother boards, keyboards, mice, cables, boards and the like
It is ILLEGAL to place these devices in the regular trash or recycle
Metal Collection - by Public Works - BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on the 1st & 3rd FRIDAYS of the month

Items may be placed curbside NO earlier than 5pm on the THURSDAY evening before metal collection
Metal items accepted: appliances, desks, metal doors (remove glass), siding, chairs, bikes, lawn mowers, garden equipment, car parts, pots and pans, etc.
Bulk Household Collection - by Public Works - BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on the 1st FRIDAY of the month
Call Borough Hall to schedule pickup of metal items and appliances - 467-0202
Items may be placed curbside NO earlier than 5pm on the THURSDAY evening before metal collection
Bulk household items include doors, furniture, box springs, mattresses and carpet
Carpet muse be cut into 4 fot lengths and bundled with string or twine. Bundles may not exceed 50lbs.
Construction/Remodeling debris WILL NOT be accepted
This includes plywood, sheetrock, insulation, flooring, fixtures, siding, shingles, toilets, cabinets, fencing, etc.-
DO NOT PUT RECYCLABLE MATERIAL IN PLASTIC BAGS

Definitions of Recyclable Materials

Plastic bottles and jigs |
Soda, milk and detergent bottles, jars and jugs. All containers must be empty, lids off and should be rinsed. Labels may be left on. |

Glass bottles and jugs |
Bottles, jars and jugs - clear, brown and green. Labels and metal rings may be left on. NO cookware, window, auto or mirror glass. |

Aluminum and steel food and beverage containers and aerosol containers |
Beverage and food containers, lids, caps and clean foil. These may be placed in the same container. Pet food cans with plastic liners are acceptable. Aerosol containers must be empty. Labels may be left on containers. |

Paper and cardboard |

Large metal items and appliances Collected 1st & 3rd Fridays - |
Washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, ovens, dish washers, hot and cold water tanks, air conditioners, swing sets, bicycles, auto parts, lawn care equipment, furnaces and other items made of metal. |

Leaves |
Leaves and yard clippings will now be collected by the Public Works Department as part of the normal Vegetative Yard Waste Collection on Thursdays. Leaves, grass clippings and other small yard waste may be placed in any standard trash receptacle (NOT the Brown or Blue cans from the Borough) OR paper leaf bags available in any hardware store. Leaves placed curbside WILL NO LONGER be collected! Leaves in plastic bags will not be collected! |
