
Swedesboro-Woolwich Memorial WallThe memorial plaques located in front of the Borough Hall in Swedesboro are dedicated to the memory of the men and women from this area who served in the armed forces during World War I, World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
A total of 695 area residents served - 29 made the ultimate sacrifice.
World War I, the "war to end all wars and bring lasting peace" saw 123 Swedesboro-area residents taking part in 1917 and 1918, 7 never returned.
World War II saw approximately 440 area men and women serve between 1941-1945 - 15 gave their lives in the service of their country.
The Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War saw 132 residents served - 2, a fighter pilot and a heavy bomber crewman, never returned from Korea, and 5 made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.
In grateful recognition of all the men and women who served
our country, from the Revolutionary War to the present,
we pay special thanks to those who sacrificed their lives so that this great
nation might endure.
