At the October 20th Borough Council meeting, 15 year old Swedesboro resident and Kingsway Freshman Christopher Beck presided over the Council meeting as the "Mayor for the Day". Mayor Fromm commented that he had met Chris during the 2007 Swedesboro-Woolwich Day and on another occasion while walking in his neighborhood. After running into each other again during this year's Swedesboro-Woolwich Day, Mayor Fromm was so impressed with Chris's interest in how the town works and his enthusiasm for local government he invited Chris to sit in his place at a council meeting. Chris served with great distinction and asked some mature, thought provoking questions and made some suggestions that are worthy of further consideration. "Acting Mayor Beck" is an excellent example of the quality of our young people in Swedesboro.
